groovy mozzarella

Won, a Korean seminarian who I've been volunteering with, chose Pizza Hut for his farewell dinner last night. So half dozen of us made our way downtown to the joint, which is not nearly as depressing as the American version. Downright hip, actually: the waiters do choreographed dances to Bollywood pop hits while your chicken tikka pizza cooks. Tasty too, and I've chosen to begin a fast from pizza to prepare myself for returning to Chicago.

Volunteering at Prem Dan continues to go well. I don't have any spiritual insights to post here, and I learned pretty quickly any tidbits of revelation I can discover from a few days here are probably pretty easy to come by anyway. If I can learn to focus a little more on giving to the residents, and a little less on what I'm "learning from the experience," that's no small gain for me.

Hannah's latest blog post has some good description of Calcutta life. The link is on the right.
